Habitat, Biology and Fisheries: Pelagic, mostly offshore, usually in surface waters, depth range 1-500 m. Feeds mainly on fishes and cephalopods, large individuals may take larger prey such as Billfishes, sharks, and small cetaceans. Usually caught by longlines.	Local Use: Limited consumption for food. Fishing by surface and bottom nets, and hook and line; exported to mainland Yemen, or other countries.
الموئل والبيولوجيا ومصايد الأسماك : ا يعيش في المياه الداخلية بعيدا عن الشاطىء, عادة في المياه السطحية, يتراوح العمق من 1 الى 500م . يتغذى على الاسماك وراسيات الارجل, والكبير من افرادها بتغذى على فرائس كبيرة كالسمك طويل المنقار , وسمك القرش وقشريات صغيرة. عادة يتم اصطياده بواسطة الخيوط الطويلة.	الاستخدام المحلي : ا استخدام لحمه محدود، يصطاد بالشباك السطحية و ألقاعيه و الخيط والجلب يصدر مجمداً إلى البر الريئسي أوإلى خارج اليمن.
