Habitat, Biology and Fisheries: Inhabits sand and muddy sand bottom often in open sand areas, depth range 3-30 m. Feeds primarily on benthic crustaceans, bivalves and small fishes. Usually caught by gillnets and trawls.	Local Use: Consumed for food; fishing by surface and bottom nets, and also surface and bottom hook and line; not exported to the mainland.
الموئل والبيولوجيا ومصايد الأسماك : ا يتواجد في القيعان الرملية والطينية الرملية غالبا في المناطق الرملية المفتوحة , في اعماق تتراوح من 3 الى 30 م. يتغذى بشكل اساسي على قشريات الاعماق , والرخويات ثنائية المصراع والاسماك الصغيرة . عادة يتم اصطياده بواسطة الشباك الخيشومية وشباك الجرف "الترول" .	الاستخدام المحلي : ا يستخدم كغذاء, الصيد بالشباك السطحية والقاعية والخيط والجلب؛لا يصدر إلى البر الرئيسي اوخارج اليمن.
