Habitat, Biology and Fisheries: Occurs near the bottom, from coral reefs to the upper continental shelf, depth range 40-250 m. Feeds on small benthic fishes, crustaceans, and mollusks. Usually caught by longlines and hook-and-lines.	Local Use: Consumed for food; fishing by surface and bottom nets, and by surface and bottom hook and line; exported frozen or salted to the mainland and abroad.
الموئل والبيولوجيا ومصايد الأسماك : ا يعيش قرب القاع , بدءا بالحيود المرجانية وحتى الرفوف القارية العليا , يتراوح العمق من 40 الى 250 م . يتغذى على الاسماك القاعية الصغيرة , والقشريات , والرخويات . عادة يتم اصطياده باستعمال الخيوط الطويلة وكذلك الخطاف- و-الخيط .	الاستخدام المحلي : ا يستخدم كغذاء، الصيد بالشباك السطحية والقاعية والخيط والجلب؛ يصدر مجمداً أو مجففاً إلى البر الرئيسي وخارج اليمن
